We are in the thick of the shopping season and many people are going to be buying new smart phones, so we decided to put together a quick blog about the Top 3 on the market right now. Enjoy.
Frankly, there are so many excellent smart phones available that choosing the top three was actually pretty difficult. It was tough to rank which one really was # 1 and your mileage may vary on which one you actually think is the best. All 3 of these fine smart phones are worth calling your own.
#1: the Apple IPhone 5S
The father (or mother) of all smartphones, Apple brings us the new iPhone 5S comes with an improved 64-bit A 7 processor as well as a fingerprint enabled Touch ID home button which makes it much easier to not only unlock the phone but also to purchase apps from iTunes. Not only that but the iPhone 5S has taken one of the most popular cameras on the market and made it even better.
Siri integration has been improved as well as updated notifications with their new control center. One of the reasons that we picked the iPhone 5S as number one is that, thanks to Apple’s strict control over their hardware, all of the new apps being released performed quite consistently.
It’s still one of the most expensive smart phones on the market and, if you choose to go without a contract, you could well pay up to nearly $850 for your iPhone 5S, but for some people it’s well worth it. Also, it’s now available on all the major carriers.
#2: the HTC One
Frankly, the only reason that the HTC One didn’t get the top spot is that their camera is not nearly as good as the iPhone 5 S. For whatever reason the photographs have very little depth or detail like most of the other 8 megapixel or better phone cameras on the market. It works well, don’t get us wrong, but since many people love their smart phone cameras it was enough to drop it out of the top spot.
Still, the HTC One comes with Android 4.3 and is definitely a premium piece of hardware. The metal body not only looks amazing but has a great “hand feel” as well. If you’re looking for a smart phone that has an amazing display, HTC’s Super LCD 3 is going to be right up your alley. A 32 or 64 GB option should be plenty of memory for most people (and hopefully will be since there’s no microSD slot) and the One also comes with front facing stereo speakers and dual mics.
#2: the Samsung Galaxy Note 3
Rounding out our list of the top three is Samsung’s newest Note, the Galaxy Note 3. If you’re looking for a smart phone that has it all, including one of the biggest displays on the market, the Galaxy Note 3 should probably be your choice. It’s been optimized for the S Pen experience and is one of the most powerful Android devices on the market today. Along with a 1.6 GHz quad-core Samsung Exynos processor it has an incredible 3 GB of RAM, a 13 megapixel rear camera, microSD storage of 64 GB and a massive 3,200 mAh battery that will keep the phone going for hours at a time.
Of course one of the main reasons to purchase this smart phone is the 5.7 inch super AMOLED HD display, a display so big that it’s just a step away from being a tablet. The Galaxy Note 3 is now available on all carriers and, with its expanded storage capacity and the ability to easily swap batteries, it’s definitely earned its way into the Top 3.
